My job title at work still remains 'IT Technician/Facilitator' but since starting I've slowly taken on the role of Health and Safety too. I've been on 5 (maybe 6) different training days (not with Densel) for PAT, Health and Safety, COSHH, Risk Assessments etc. to enable me to carry out my new 'hat'.
Most of the stuff is common sense (don't leave flammable materials near sources of ignition), but one or two things, Portable Applicance Testing in particular, have made me think. Sometime before Christmas I'll be testing all our electrical equipment here at work, but I'll also be checking my wiring and fuses at home to ensure it's all up to standard. Maybe the courses were meant to be scare tactics instead?
