It is nearly a year since I purchased my first car, which means it needed an MOT, along with road tax. I booked it in for 8:30am this morning, but regretted it as my alarm went off at 7:30am.
2 hours later and I arrived at the Post Office, ready to grab a new Tax disc. The old woman behind the counter asked me for my log book - which I never even knew I had. After 30 minutes of searching through all my paper work and several phone calls, I found out that it is now known as something completely different.
I was expecting a large-ish book, full of, well, logs. Not the wooden kind, but some information on something-or-another. It turns out that it is now called a registration certificate or something. I don't know about this paperwork stuff and obviously the old woman at the Post Office was behind times.
Anyway, I've been jumping the gun a bit, my Road Tax isn't due 'till the end of the month.
While I waited for the MOT, I also booked in for my Punto's 48,000 (or however many) miles service. It's just done over 25k, but it made more sense getting the higher one - especially as it was only £3 more.
How much for a service? £190, including parts and labour. Much cheaper than the £500 I was expecting. Still, that's £190 I could be spending on a set of Corsair DDR-2 6400 2gb memory for my next PC. Ah well, they'll have to wait...
