I finally managed to go and see The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
It's very very good, much better than most reviews made it out to be, and on par with LOTR and Harry Potter - I personally prefer it to the other two, as the story itself is that much more believable - reality bordering on fantasy.
The only disappointment is that it seemed very similar to the original TV adaption, though with a bigger budget. But I guess it can't be helped, seeing as they're both based off of the same series of books. Continuity was a bit bad at times, with the wolves obviously being played by both CG and real wolves, though the film's good points more than make up for it:
Aslan looks too real, the new gollum of the CG world; the acting was outstanding, even from the 4 children (especially Lucy); the landscapes were amazing...
If you've not seen the film, then it's worth spending £6 (or whatever it is now) to go and watch it, or at least catch it on DVD upon release.
I guess now critics are deciding between LOTR, HP 1-4 and Narnia, as their film of choice.
