2007 is finally here! Happy new year to you all!
Hopefully you ended up blind drunk in the early hours of this morning, wondering what year it was and where you were? I didn't though, as I only consumed a handful of beers to see the new year in...
So what does 2007 have for us to look forward to? Well, in terms of technology, Vista is out in a few weeks. I've been doing a lot of research and I think I'll opt for the £180-ish Home Premium, as the Ultimate Edition is literally twice the price. Aria and the likes are selling current-gen versions of Windows O/S's which include a voucher for Vista - but I think it's best to wait until Vista arrives, to see how much you'll have to fork out to get the upgrade.
In terms of hardware, Quad core and Nvidia's latest offerings will continue to dominate, but AMD might have something up its sleeve.
Games wise, the PS3 is out in March, not that anyone cares anymore. I for one, will definitely not be wasting my hard earned cash on the already-doomed console. The popularity of the Wii and 360 will continue to grow, along with the PSP and DS-lite. I almost purchased the latter prior to Christmas, but decided to wait a few more months.
2007 is going to be another good year for cinema too - Hot Fuzz in February, along with many threequels, Spiderman, Shrek, Pirates and so on. The Transformers movie is looking great!
What are you looking forward to most in 2007? And what was your highlight(s) of 2006? I'll be eagerly awaiting that lottery jackpot win, which has been delayed now for many years...
