Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyo!
Several people emailed me, asking what had happened to slickhouse.com over the past day or so. If you had visited recently, then you would have seen a page or two advertising beds and so on.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I don't sell beds.
Apparently my host had the wrong credit card details stored to renew the account. Did they contact me to say so? No. Did they renew the domain on time? No. In fact, my account expired a day after the domain, which means that for one day a year, I am domain-less. It wasn't until I went to load up Firefox and my bookmarks didn't sync. Then I realised the domain had expired and the account wasn't accessible.
I suppose in all, it has been about 24 hours downtime, but I didn't realise how much I use the webspace and domain in day-to-day usage.
So expect more blogging from me, safe in the knowledge that it will be accessible for another year. I seem to remember a similar situation occurring last year too...
