I've just read a short news story that talks about Disney wanting to purchase Pixar...

What I didn't realise is that Pixar is currently owned by Steve Jobs - the guy behind iPods, Macs and all that shiznit.

This is a good move on Disney's part I believe, as they've worked in the past on various projects (Toy Story for example), which have turned out very well.

It could also mean though, that we'll see Mickey Mouse and his crew on video iPods.

I wonder if they will indeed purchase Pixar, and if so, in time for the Cars release. Interesting stuff...

I hope they dont. The Pixar methodology for film creation is top, thats why all their films are. If Disney own them they may force them to churn out more tripe, in the same way disney does sometimes with turd films like Brother Bear. Just producing a film because one is due, not because its good.

I don't think it would be a bad partnership... look at their past projects,

Toy Story, Mosters Inc. The Incredibles, Finding Nemo...

and that's just a selection.

I forgot to say Ive seen that Disney Film for chicken little, it looked fairly nice work. But then i read somewhere its using some new technology allowing for a 3D movie in Dolby Digital cinemas (most of them then??), thats pretty good so nice 1 disney for trying that.

Seems you've changed your mind on the Disney/Pixar thing? I don't think it can be that bad... sure they'll insist on some things, but I reckon Pixar will expand too. They're a good partnership, so can't be bad to become one.

Seriously though, Apple have got it sussed with their products. Seeing as an iPod is sold every second, and they're worth more than Dell now. They must be doing something right...

Update - Disney has purchased Pixar, not with money, but by trading shares and ownership...

I'm looking forward to another Monsters Inc./Incredibles/Toy Story offering, seeing as Cars doesn't look all that good...
