Many of us download our music these days for many reasons. Some acquire their music via torrents or similar P2P networks, which is illegal in many countries across the globe. Others use iTunes and it's fantastic music store - which I find great for podcasts.

But, Radiohead appear to be revolutionising the music industry and indeed, digital content distribution.

If you haven't already heard it, their latest album [in rainbows] is available for free from inrainbows.com Free is perhaps the wrong term, as in actual fact, you are the one dictating the cost. No more record labels or distributors taking a huge cut of a band's profit - and no more complaining consumers.

I've bought a digital copy for £0.00, which has just finished downloading. If I like their latest offering, I may purchase another - this time at a higher price. I can see this as the way forward for digital content, letting the buyers decide how much they want to pay. After all, Radiohead have reported sales of over 1.2 million units - and I bet over half of the buyers parted with a few £'s.

One last point - even though you can legally buy the album through their official store, many are resorting to torrents still, very bizarre.

Let me know how you get your music - torrent? iTunes (or similar)? from a shop still? or are you looking forward to the day that all music creators take a leaf out of Radiohead's book?

WtF lol, bot alert. ^^ Yeah I was going to get that radiohead album but I had to fill in my details, it was at that point I realised it would be easier to click the close button.

I might try it again when I'm feeling a bit more ambitious.

Ha! The truth is out.

I could enable users on WordPress, which would require you to register - but then you'd be able to sign in with the same username/password each time.
