On the way to work this morning, I heard that Steve Irwin died due to a Stingray attack.
It doesn't surprise me, as the poor guy constantly poked and annoyed crocodiles in his shows - the stingray's barb stabbed him through the heart as it was trying to defend itself.

I tried soo hard not to laugh, but its ironic. Weird too seen as I was talking about him dying the other week.
Pooter Update: Its all botched together and worked 1st time! (Yep Im that suprised). Not really got much installed and ive not looked at any setting yet. The only benchmark I can give ya is 3D mark 2006 I ran last night b4 bed. Was at default setting of 1280x1024 (whatever it installs with), I got 6150 or something like that. It was 61..Something anyway. Whole rig seems fine apart from 1 seriousish problem with the Asaka cpu cooler and my mobo. Do i wish id waited for that arctic freezer! Nevermind. (Ill explain it later - i want ot put on webpage but ive lost all my filezilla settings for the servers and ill have to reinstall dreamweaver n all that jazz.)

Finished My benchmarks last night, not overclocked and didnt bother rebooting between tests (too boring).
3Dmark2001se: 37720 2003: 19129 2005: 11496 2006: 6183 Super PI (not 100% ive done this correctly, I just did the highest calculation you could, 64Million or something) = 15.953 seconds.
Dont know what this all means but its for the stats dood.

SuperPi - run it at 2m calculations.
Those benchmarks are uber, quite a chunk higher than mine - but it seems all Core2 benchmarks are a lot higher than any AMD solution.
In fact, your 2001se is over 7k higher than mine!

It feels nice to have a fast 'puter again I bet? I like the fact that I don't have to wait for things anymore...
Woah, yeah it nice...only I didnt think of 1 thing...as ive only installed 1 hard drive, if i was installing something to the harddrive then opening winamp to play music off my external hard drive I still have to wait for winamp to load! Ahhh lol didnt think about that. Need to get the other hard drive in, then maybe it wont be such a lockup. Ill try that super pie again, didnt have a clue what test to run.

oh and during the 3dmark 2001se at one tiny point in the test my fps dipped to 88! I was disgusted it went below 100 on such an old test! lol
One cool thing was on the 3dmark 2003 test when doing the cpu test on the plane section i was still getting around 100fps which seems crazy. Cant remember how old pooter handled it but i got a feeling it was a bit of a slideshow. Might be wrong there.
