I've been waiting for this film for a good 6 months now...
I watched a trailer for it last year at the Lincoln ODEON whilst waiting for another film to start (as you do), and was impressed. But, as with most decent films, the Lincoln ODEON didn't show it - so it was either a trip to another cinema that did, or await the DVD release.
I picked it up on DVD last week, and got around to watching it last night.
Although it's not related, the film is very similar in style to the Lock Stock/Snatch/Layer Cake films, with quick cuts, stylish directing and cockney slang thrown in for good measure. The setting is straight out of 80's miami, so Vice City gamers will feel right at home as they sit through the 91 minutes of film.
The storyline is quite simple, and unoriginal, showing the path from zero to hero, back to zero again, of a young cockney wideboy (in the making). But it works well.
Although it received an 18 certificate (due to supposedly strong language and intense violence), I don't think there's much to worry about. Sure, a guy's head is cut clean off and stuck to a fence post, but nothing compared to Scarface.
Still, the film is yet another in my growing collection that I'll re-visit many times. Worth watching.
