In the words of Neo - "woah, upgrades".

I previously posted about my thoughts on upgrading something if it isn't broken. However, yesterday when I checked my server's control panel, I spotted that my disc usage was wayyy higher than I expected. After checking the disk usage, I realised my blog was up to 200mb in size, whereas previously it had barely been a few meg.

Further investigation showed some odd files, each 11mb in size, splashed around the wordpress install. Someone had been attempting to mess-up my blog!

Whereas my philosophy before was "if it aint broke, don't fix it", but now that some school-boy hacker had started to mess with it, I decided to upgrade in order to get the latest secure version.

So here it is - Wordpress 2.0.2 to all of you, it looks identical to before, but to me it looks nice and fresh from the inside (admin area):

wordpress 2.0.2

OK, it's a bit slower than before, but it does the job just as well.

I'll be downgrading to rectify the problem! After contacting my host, it seems that the latest version of Wordpress has errors in its .php files, causing the bloat of core files...
