I know, I know - WordPress 2.0 has been out for a good month or so, and the latest update 2.0.1 has been released... but I don't think I'll be migrating Lazlow's Blog (well, my blog) to the updated system.

I'm not going to be stuck in the dark ages if I don't upgrade - but for once I'm going to stick to the philosophy:

If it aint broke, don't fix it.

This blog functions fine, just how I intend it to. I've spent hours hacking away at the many files within the blog and I don't want to undo all the hard work. I have, however, installed WordPress 2.0.1 somewhere else on the slickhouse.com server for my next project. It's this initial testing of the update that has put me off upgrading my blog. For a start, I don't like the new format for posting. It also feels a lot slower in comparison.

I wont give out any more details yet on what this new project is, as in fact it's more of a revival of a past project that never got going properly. I will of course post here as and when I have news on it though...

I got a new mouse at work today, it has a wheel on it to aid scrolling through documents you see. And all this just a couple of months since DWP decided to upgrade all our machines to XP, spending millions of pounds making the desktop look exactly like they did when we had 2000 in the process and now it only takes half an hour to get back into the system when your machine's timed out because you've gone to make a brew. See the civil service is really at the cutting edge of technology!

Get me I can be techy too!

It's the way it is with modern technology...

Look at how they're fading out VHS and Floppy Disks.

Microsoft has a support policy thingy that supports old operating systems for 4 years or so after they've been discontinued.

98 and Me (and earlier) have been discontinued altogether, forcing people using them to upgrade, otherwise their computers may explode into a ball of flames and squirt acid in their eyes!

So I suspect that if I don't upgrade to the latest WordPress version, my blog will explode, sending pulses of explosion stuffs to everyone visiting it, causing their computers to explode into a ball of flames and squirt acid in their eyes...
